Import declaration
When you import goods into the Netherlands, import duties, excise duty, consumption tax and VAT must be paid depending on the type of goods. NBK takes care of all import declarations for importing goods into the Netherlands.

Transit issues
A transport document is required to transport customs goods. This document is a T1 document. NBK has all the options for preparing T1 documents and submitting them to customs.

Excise declarations
The excise duty of goods is done via an excise declaration and is required as soon as excise goods are sold in the Netherlands.

Customs declarations
When goods are imported into the Netherlands or exported from the Netherlands, these goods must be declared at customs.

Export documents
Several documents are required for exporting goods from Europe. As a Freight Forwarder and logistics service provider, NBK can assist in obtaining this documentation.

An electronic administrative document (e-AD) must be prepared to transport excise goods under excise duty suspension. If the transport of excise goods takes place to a location without an excise warehouse permit, then there are other conditions for transporting the goods.

Export documents
Several documents are required to export goods from Europe.

NBK can provide the following documents with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (CoC):

  • Certificates of Origin
  • EUR. 1 certificates
  • ATR certificates

A certificate of origin (CO) is a document that indicates the origin of a product. A CoO proves in which country a product was made. Based on a CoO, a country can decide whether or not you are allowed to import a product. Some countries outside the EU require a certificate of origin in connection with effective regulations such as boycotts, import restrictions or import quotas.

EUR. 1 Certificate
The European Union has trade agreements with a number of countries and groups of countries. In the case of reciprocal importation of goods, a discount or exemption on import duties may be granted. The EUR. 1 certificate declares whether and which discounts or exemptions apply to a particular product.

ATR Certificate
An ATR certificate is a customs document that is required for trade between the EU and Turkey. The certificate can be used for both import and export. As a basis, products covered by the trade agreement are exempt from import duties. However, there may be exceptions or additional taxes that may apply to certain products.

Software packages.

If you import goods to the Netherlands or export goods from the Netherlands, the goods must be declared by the Dutch tax and customs office. They will make a calculation for the costs that must be paid.

For a customs declaration, several points needs to be arranged. We can support you with the custom declarations. From NBK we offer various software packages to arrange customs declarations for you. The software packages we offer are:

  • Import declarations;
  • Imports with fiscal representation;
  • T1/T2 over NCTS;
  • Excise documents;
  • (Re)export declarations.

Customs declarations: why is it necessary?.

It is necessary that customs have a good overview of the customs declarations. The goods are subjected to a customs procedure and the arrangement depends on the type of goods being traded and the country of origin or destination.

Customs uses the information from the declaration to:

  • Calculate the tax for the goods;
  • Collect certain data;
  • Ensure that they have a complete overview and supervision.
